King William had two children with his wife Queen Adelaide, but they didn’t survive. So when William died, his niece Victoria became Queen.
ALFIE
Queen Victoria!
BILLIE
These were her apartments. We’re going to see her bedroom in a minute, but first there’s something else. What is the style of the outside of the pavilion?
ALFIE
Easy. The inside is Chinese but the outside is Indian!
BILLIE
And what about the king’s massage man. He was…
ALFIE
Indian!
BILLIE
And what kind of hospital was here during the First World War?
ALFIE
Indian?
BILLIE
Correct! It was for Indian soldiers who were wounded in France, and came here to recover. The room we’re going to go into has information about the hospital. And there are a couple of exhibits you’ll like.
ALFIE
What do you mean?
BILLIE
Well there’s a Gurkha knife, called a kukri, and a first world war rifle.
ALFIE
Wicked!
BILLIE
When we’ve looked in there, we’re going to come back this way, and up those stairs into Queen Victoria’s bedroom.
