So does the Royal Family still own the Pavilion?
BILLIE
No, Queen Victoria sold it because it wasn’t big enough for her family, and now the city of Brighton look after it.
ALFIE
I wonder why she didn’t sleep in George’s bedroom?
BILLIE
Perhaps she didn’t want to sleep downstairs.
ALFIE
Not that bedroom, his first bedroom, before he got too big to come upstairs. I’ll show you, if you like, except there’s nothing there, not even a bed. It’s through the blue gallery, in the last room on the left before the stairs.
BILLIE
Let’s go and have a look anyway. I like seeing the rooms where kings and queens have slept! Then we have to go downstairs and hand in our guide on the way out…
ALFIE AND BILLIE
…at the gift shop! Yeah!
ALFIE
